July 11, 2011

Hello.
Well thanks for the email. and the reminder that it is coming to an end. Its kind of wierd. I dont have the feeling that i am going home. I go through everyday trying to make it better than the last. I talk to every person that i see and its just normal. I am just a missionary. that is life. I cant imagine life any different than just teaching and committing to baptism and serving. Its going to be weird for sure. I think. I have no idea what normal life is like. Work, School, ect. i just cant seem to imagine it. hmmm. oh well.
The week went great this week. Elder Reschke and I have been tearing it up. We found an awesome family, Family Dos Santos. they are from Angola Where they speak portuguese. The husband is already a member, what are the chances of that. But his wife is not. tHey have three beautiful daughters one is 6 months the other is 2 years old and the last one is 6. They are all so funny. We had a good time. The wife wants to be baptized. So ELder Reschke will continue the work there. Im excited to see you all as well. Hope you haave a great week till thrusday. When you go to this appointment with the councilor could you see if i could get into a german class or if i could test out of german so that i could get credit for it. Thats kind of lame that i didnt get my scholarship. thats not too cool. but whatever. i love you all and will see you later. Bis später.

Sei Gegrüsst!!!!1
Wonderful family of mine.
Thanks for writing me. thank you for all that you do. The new mission president has come to the mission. President Miles and Sister Miles from Bountiful Utah are so cool. they are absolutely great. I am however going to miss president and sister condie. this church is the greatest how callings work president condie was at the beginning of this week a Mission President and next week he could be playing the Organ in his home ward for the Primary or he could be called as a member of the seventy. I would probably guess the latter because of the goodness of his heart and the diligence with which he served his mission. What a great and inspiratory man. What a great opportunity i have also to get to know and work with a new mission president. I get to learn from the spiritual giants. A missionary is the greatest thing to be. You should be excited to be a missionary one day. I cant wait either. being a missionary without transfers or having to change companions. That would be the greatest.
Which is exactly the opposite of what i have been doing. for this week i was in Interlaken on monday then i went to Dornbirn which was great. Then the assistents had planned that i would go and do exchanges in the stuttgart zone for the last two weeks of my mission but then a problem came up where a missionary had to unexpectedly leave the mission. Its so sad to experience thta, to see what happens to some misssionaries. So now i am in Rosenheim covering his spot. I get to work with Elder Reschke. He is a great missionary. We are in a wonderful city and an awesome apartment. Its so cool we've even got cold water. Thats it. So every morning has been an amazingly refreshing cold shower.
We are working hard. I am getting pretty tired. but its the best feeling in the world. Nothing better.
You can tell spencer that he doesnt have to come to meet me. you should also tell him that he needs a motorcycle permit on his driving licencse to drive it. so he can go ahead and try to pound me. Friday sounds great for the temple. I miss the temple.
well not much to say. I wanted to ask how much i have in my account so that i can know what i can buy to bring home. Plus my suit that i was wearing on my traveling missionary times is destroyed. I wore holes through the knees and the butt. So i have one suit left and its pretty tattered as well. let me know.
That is really cool that you want to be a missionary. There is a quote hanging in the mission office about the word missionary it says: "Missionary: (noun) someone who leaves his or her family for two years, so that others can be with thiers for Eternity". Its true. I love seeing the Gospel change the mindsets of families to eternal.
HAve a good one.

Those pictures are from Interlaken. most beautiful place on earth. ANy how i almost forgot to write you. i totally forgot about class registration. My comp had to remind me. please if you can, i know you are busy and you had a ton to do at youth conference with cooking but if it wouldnt be so hard you could sign me up for classes. Talk to the counselor if you can and maybe just get me classes that will work towards my major also that will help me get done with my undergraduates. i hope its not too late. thanks mom.

Heu!!!!
Well swiss german is about as understandable as the subject of this email. But that is ok. I am actually understanding pretty well. I can also speak a little bit of swiss german now. i gotta live here. This is the most beautiful place in the world. Guess where i am today? go ahead and guess? ya thats right im in interlaken!!! The Country land of bern. i will have to send some pictures. Im doing dood. I am still among the living. I am also baptising. In this week i was in Wettingen, Altstetten, Biel and Interlaken. In each area i was able to help find teach and invite someone to baptism and they all accepted. With the help of preach my gospel and the Holy ghost baptismal dates have been set in every city that i have been in. I attended church in the mountains of Interlaken. So beautiful. They have a swiss fest going on right now. Also cool stuff. Sorry that i used money out of my account i had to buy a train ticket from Offenburg to frauenfeld. the office didnt transfer money into my account because, well i have no idea so i have been going around washing my garments in the sinks of different apartments living out of my backpack and sleeping on floors, not having to worry about what im going to take with me or what i will wear, what i will eat. Im living the sermon on the mount. I am the liles of the field the birds of the air. I take with me purse nor scrip. its the greatest thing in the world. I love you all and wish you the best. This church is true. I have felt that so strongly in these days where i have nothing but the holy ghost to keep me warm at night. :)
With love and biggest hugs,

Schoen von euch zu hoeren,
Gruess euch!!!
Well this week has been another amazing week filled with powerful testimony and lots of love. I love these people so much. Even when they act against Gods commandments. I feel even then a greater love for them and want them to repent so that they can enjoy the full blessings that Heavenly Father wants for them, and that they can recieve when they are baptized! Its great to preach repentance and baptism.
I am doing great we had the opportunity on p-day last week to clean. That helped alot with my allergies. I found that apparently missionaries don't know how to clean an apartment properly and for that very reason there was a layer of dust everywhere that caused me to sneeze anytime anybody moved. So all is better now. I made the apartment super clean and finally got unpacked and a little bit comfortable. I've built up a decent relationship with the branch here, and president condie called me this morning and asked me to , "pack your bags you're coming back to München and then we'll send you off from there. We've got a couple of tasks for you." Im pretty stoked. I have already worked in the entire mission as Assistent, i know basically how its going to work in most of the wards and areas in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. i am just a little bit afraid that i really am going to turn to dust by the end of my mission. Here with elder jacklin has been great. Its been lots of running because the busses here are just that awesome. and I believe that for this last little bit of time im going to push myself harder than ever before. Im not sure if thats possible but that is how exchanges work. something that i love about exchanges is that, that is the time when you are allowed to expect miracles. You pray, invoke the powers of the heaven and then go to town. you give everything you've got and about 200% more and then that is where you have an experience like in the scriptures and 10,000 souls are added to the church. i love having faith in such experiences that God blesses us with them when we live faithfully and give that what we have to him. There is a great scripture about that in Doctrine and Covenants 124:49. In that section that is where the Lord commands them to build a temple or a house to His name and that is what he says about the work that they are supposed to do. It is also with us. When we are commanded to do something, anything, then he expects that we do it. however when we are destroyed in the doing so, or held back from accomplishing that from some unknown source than he will accept our sacrifice. But in the seeing of our sacrifice i have seen where he blesses us and helps us to accomplish that which he has commanded us to do. (1 ne 3:7)
Speaking of Temple and sacrifice, i have not been there in a long time. It would be a great wish from me that when i come home the first thing to do after i step of the plane is to go strait to the temple. Can you arrange that, maybe the salt lake temple?
I dont have anymore vitamins. i gave them to an old couple missionary as i was in innsbruck. Allergy stuff i dont think i have had since my first summer. but its ok. i have lived without drugs for the last two years i think i will be ok for a little longer.
As for the money. They cant reimburse it into my perspnal account they dont have access to that. They reimbursed it into my MSF account and then i just take that money and put it into my personal fund. i have the money. all is well in ingolstadt/zion.
Life is going great. i am still kicking. and baptising. We set a couple of baptismal dates this week as well and a couple who were going to get baptised here got into some anti stuff and no longer want to meet with us. But its ok what satan doesnt know is that the anti's make us stronger.
I love you all and wish you a wonderful week. any questions and comments about my service or my driving just call 1-800-TAUFE

Dearest family and loved ones that know nothing of my existence,
Wow, has it been a long time since i wrote or what? But time flies when you've planned according to preach my gospel and you are using the very precious time that you have been given to lead souls to the One who loves us the most. I love it so much being here and realize that the time that i have is longer than that what was expected but still incredibly short. I would gladly give my whole life to the gospel. I should. I dont deserve all the blessings that i have recieved in my life and i think i need to work it off. Just kidding mom. but really i would gladly stay forever, even if i was captured and held hostage by the german government. Wanna know why. because then i would teach them the gospel and baptise them!!! Plus all of the good missionaries have been in jail. Paul, Joseph smith... and so on. Need i say more.
probably i should write more because i haven't written in like three weeks. So here is what happened. President asked me to stay longer on my mission. I think that you caught wind of that, as he called you. Then he asked me to train a new missionary. Elder Eaker is his name. I got sent back to Wien with Elder Eaker and we were working in a new area. We whitewashed the Wien 4 international ward. That means we were speaking englisch. We got to contact all the brothas on the street. that was so much fun. They are really open to the gospel. Anybody that speaks englisch is golden. We found in 4 days 7 new investigators and then we set 4 baptismal dates. that was awesome. We tore it up. Elder Eaker is an amazing missionary. I respect him a ton. Sad thing was that he had to go home. We had to ride back to munich and the day after i rode with him to the airport and he is now back in georgia. president condie talked to me and we set up a new plan for action. I am now in Ingolstadt. The place where Audi is made. Everyone in this city works for Audi. aDn everyone and their dog drives an audi. Cool stuff but what is cooler is that i get to work with elder Jacklin from american fork utah. he says he has family that might live in our ward boundaries. He is in his second transfer and so that means that he is still on fire and full of faith from the MTC. We tore it up this week as well. We found also seven new investigators and set two baptismal dates. It is considerably harder because the bus system here is pretty off and on and comes only once in a blue moon. Upon that i am feeling drowsied and worn upon from my allergies. I have never had allergies this bad but thats ok. I'm not gonna lie. I understand why missions are only two years long. Im getting tired. But im pushing through it. There is nothing that brute force and will power and faith can't conquer.
Faith is something that i have been studying lately how just the way you think about a subject or a person or anything for that matter can be influenced majorly by your own faith. There were a couple of experiences where i was calling old investigators and elder jacklin told me that they never have answered, but through simple faith and the thought in my head and heart that this time would be the time that they answered really worked. They answered. Baptismal dates were set and the work of the Almighty goes forth. I love faith. it brings a certain confidence in Gods plan and his love for us. I know that.
the cool thing about it all is that i love being here. I work and just do it for the simple fact that i know that all that what i preach is true. I dont do it for glory or fame but rather for Gods Kingdom. I give my best even though i know i wont be here in ingolstadt much longer. President and the assistents (elder BAird and ELder Bernhardt) planned that as soon as an elder that injured himself in the MTC comes to the mission then Elder Jacklin will get a new companion and I will be able to travel the mission and do exchanges with missionaries all over. They plan where i will go. I stay there for two days or so and then on to the next city. I look forward to that, although i know it will be tiring. I promise you i will turn to dust at the end of my mission. I hope to press forward in my life as well with the same kind of attitude of service to God and hope to progress to the day where i get to kneel at His feet.
Say hi to the fam. Also to elder wright. Tell him that i love him. Say hi to sydney and Aaron and tell them sorry that i didnt come to the wedding. Tell Dad he's a champ for setting up or taking up all those tents without me. Tell chelsea that i'm sorry for not writing in a long time and not saying that i'm not coming home for a while. Say to spencer that he's a stud and that soccer is not the most important thing in life, but because he is on the B team i will now call it the A team. He is a great kid. dEvin is too. I love him and wish the best for him. and mom Im telling you that i love you. thanks for putting up with me and the decisions i make in my life.
Each one of you i love,
Elder Adams

Lovies,
I have no idea why the change. but i am greatful for it. I was starting to also come to accept the fact that i was going to have to come home. At every zone konference all of the missionaries that were going to be leaving had the opportunity to give their testimonies. President wanted that we (elder Baird and i) in the closing testimony meeting give our testimonies. We were doing that and every time it just kind of pushed harder at the fact that i was coming home. President called me into his office this morning and just asked, "is your family, or have plans been made that would be affected by you staying longer? Will you stay another transfer?" I dropped to my knees tears started flowing from my tired eyes and i said "I will gladly stay longer." You see, the thing is, is that i have already said yes once in the Temple. I will take that as my answer anytime that i am asked to do something more. Anything that the Lord wants of me i will do. And i will give every fiber of my being to do it well. Thank you for understanding. thank you for answering so early. If you didnt answer then then i would have not reached you. I would have later been in Heilbronn. We have an exchange there later today. And we gotta drive there. Then we have zone konferenze there tomorrow morning. I wish you all the best and much love,

Sorry that i didnt email. we had a small transfer this week and we had to plan that and some other things got in the way. However the fact of the matter still is that i love you. I will try and call on sunday evening. We will call after 9:30. That way it doesnt interrupt with the work. We are so busy. the work is going great and i am pushing it till the very end. I only wish that there was not an end. I want to stay and work more but i get constantly reminded from president condie and from other missionaries that i can not. I love you and we can hear us on sunday. ask your questions there again. i cant answer them now. lovies!!!!

Thanks!!!!!!1
Thank you all so much. thanks for the e-card. Um.... ya. you asked me to watch it by myself for the first time but that doesnt really work. there is never a moment where elder Baird is less than a meter away from me. Which is cool. We eat together, We sleep together, we share the same piece of mint flavored dental floss. the world is our burrito. We are such a team. I love it. I can really notice how much more of a load i have to carry when i am on exchange with somebody else. Elder baird and i carry the weight and work together so well it is almost unbelievable. I think i will attribute that to his amazing work ethnic and devotedness to the work. I dont even know if those are really words that i just used but i felt cool using them.
We are stoke for the Baptism of silvia davidova this weekend. She is the daughter of the Silvia that we just baptised a couple of weeks ago. She has made a ton of progress these last couple of weeks and i hope that she contiues to make progress and fight off the temptations of satan. He is really a bugger.
I got to work in basel this week with Elder Meckes. he is from Minden Germany. what a great missionary. I also had the opportunity to be on another exchange with Elder Venczel he is from Hungary. Such great faith have i never before seen. It is wonderful to be a missionary here in the greatest mission in the world.
The time is going by way too fast. I dont even know what happened this week. We are constantly calling people in the mission getting stuff organized. We have no time for ourselves and that is kind of not good because my journal is suffering. but its positive because its not about me. My mission was never about me. I'm really glad that that has become internalized. because this is whats most important. these people are the most important and their eternal joy is the most important.
Well other details about this week are... ya i dont know. its just going by too fast.
Lots of love,
Elder Adams

Lovies!!!!!
Sorry that i did not email last week. It was pretty crazy. We had a platefull to do. It was transfer week and that we had to get all planned und set up. I am however very thankful for elder Aeschbacher who is in the office now. He is so great. he got all the train times and other stuff set up so that missionaries wouldnt get lost on transfer day and that was great. I am staying here as assistant with elder Baird. I am so excited to be able to keep working with him. we have a goal to have at least three more baptisms in this transfer. the baptism with sister Davidova went great. Elder Baird baptised her in her mother language, Czech. As he baptised her it was so cool. I got to be one of the two witnesses because i knew the prayer in czech as well. The spirit was so strong. and after she came up out of the water she exhaled a joyful laugh and then she went to her daughter smiling and beaming happiness and just cried in her shoulder i gotta go have a meeting with president hopefully i can write more later and then ja bye!!!!!

So to continue this email....
on sunday it was great. It was silvia's confirmation day i had talked to denise, her daughter, the night before to learn the prayer for the confirmation in chech. that was so hard. But i managed, in sacrament meeting, which was also fast and testimony meeting, i confirmed her in her mother language and then gave her a blessing in german. The spirit was really strong. I love this restored gospel. One can really feel that these sacred ordinances are ordained of God. I know its true. We are working on being better and better though. We are never going to give up. And i am grateful to be doing this work.

as for that other stuff. I think that my uvu id and password are laxer11 its the same for both of them i think. ya i dont know, what i want. I think it would be great to study there at other places. Elder baird wants me to study with him. but i have know idea. I think i will just stay here. that would be easiest. ha ha. no but really for now i think i will just work my self to death here and then worry about life when i get back there. thats a good idea. Thanks for all that you do. and for the support you give unto me. have a great week and let me know if there is anything i can do for you.

April 4, 2011

Hi,
Thanks a ton for the birthday song. It was a pretty cool birthday. I thought i had managed to go along without letting anyone know that it was my birthday. Then we had all of the zoneleaders from the whole mission over in our house on the first of April. we had zone leader council on the next day and i thought that nobody knew. We had a super busy night on the first of april and we taught 8 lessons to our super amazing investigators that are making progress and loving coming to church. But as we came home on the night of the first of april. i went into my room after planning in the office and getting everything ready for zone leader council the next day and all the zone leaders had decorated my bed with streamers and flags and other stuff. it was funny. Although unnecessary, I am thankful that some people care about me. Thank you for the card. :) i will have to use the coupons after my mission. I dont think i can use really any of them while i am here.
WE had a crazy good week. The baptism for Silvia Davidova is planned. She speaks Czechoslovakish and she wants me to confirm her so i got some language study to do. She speaks german as well but in her mother tongue would be cooler. Elder Baird is going to perform the baptism in Czech as well. We are stoked for next saturday. Busy week ahead of us. I am greatful for general konferenz. that was great. I felt uplifted and strengthened.
well we have a meeting with president condie now. So i gotta go. thanks for all that you do. I love each and everyone of you for the support and love that you send to me.
Love,
ELDER ADAMS
ps. could you see if i can apply to byu or u of u and then apply that for me. I dont know when the deadlines are. President condie commanded me that i should start thinking about my studies and life after the mission even though i dont want to at all. man the prophets had to talk about marriage and president jumped on that topic and started giving elder Baird and i council. funny stuff.
well bye till next time.

Grüß,
Hi not a lot of time till we are off to Switzerland. We are cutting our "P-Day" Short because we need to go do an exchange with the missionaries in Zürich. We will be driving there. Its not even really a p-day. WE have been sending in the monthly reports the the church headquarters and filling out the weekly reports for the mission and for our outstanding missionpresident President Condie. I love him so much. he really does a good job and leads this mission well.
That is really sad that Br. Bliss died. I remember all the good times going to his house on sunday and giving them the sacrament. Sad.
Well thats also a really cool that you got to talk to elder hinckley. He is also a great man. What characteristics of leadership he has. He really motivated our mission. It was really a privelege to be able to travel the mission with him and his wonderful wife. they are great.
This week was awesome. satan is throwing his mighty winds at our investigators and trying to shake them and with a couple he was halfway successfull, but we gonna get him back. We are helping our investigators through their troubles and the ward has really pulled together to help a couple families in need. That is another reason why this church is true. because if or when the members follow and hold true to their covenants that they have made in the tempel and at Baptism as described in Mosiah 18:8-10 then this world will become a better place and this work will make progress toward the promise that every knee will bow and every tongue shall confess! I love this work and I love the Lord. That he will bless us all with a quick remembrance of our nothingness and reliance upon His saving hand is my prayer in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Elder adams
p.s. i love you all and keep you constantly in my prayers.

March 21, 2011

heloo!!!!
well thats good that the little reef didnt die. Tell spencer i love him and that from mistakes you'll get smart thats why one is just a start. I tried to make a good translation from a german proverb thing. it worked ok. Its normally Aus Fehler wirst du klug darum ist einer nicht genug. but ya my week went good. I dont know if you got the emails from president condie. i was so excited when i found out that i was going to be able to stay longer but that had to change because a missionary went home early and so now there will be an uneven number of missionaries in the field and so because of that i think is why president condie changed his mind of why its not possible that i can stay. Thats all that i wanted was to stay longer. That would have been my birthday wish as well. Time goes by fast. Elder baird says that the reason why i didnt get the extension is because maybe i need to get home as scheduled so that i can get married faster. ha ha. I love working with Elder baird. he is my favorite. This week went great Georg came and did mission work with us the whole day on saturday. he is 25. and he is going to be a leader of this church. He has such a strong testimony of the gospel and of helping people. I christlike love him. and all of the people here.
I dont need anything for my birthday. can you just tell me how much money is on my account. I havent had a preparation day since i have been assistent and president wants to plan a p day with us so i need to know if i have enough to to something. president can apparently see that we need a break. So just let me know. i wish you all a great week. Hope that all goes well.

Sister Adams,

I'm forwarding this to President Condie, and we will talk with Elder Adams this morning.  He was in Wiener Neustadt this week and just returned yesterday, so it is possible he used his own card for some reason.  We will get back to you as soon as possible.

Sister Adams,

I just talked with Elder Baird, Elder Adams' companion.  He said that Elder Adams had tried to use his personal card yesterday, but it didn't work.  Apparently the bank rejected it immediately.  If he had been able to use it, he would have been reimbursed for the cost, of course.  Thanks for sending us such an outstanding young man.  He is having a tremendous influence for good on our entire mission.  We love him!

Dear Sister Adams,

Thank you very much for being willing to allow Elder Adams to extend the release date of his mission. Due to a change of circumstances, it will not be necessary for Elder Adams to serve with us beyond his originally scheduled release date. We shall miss him greatly; however, he will return to you on May 26, 2011, as originally planned. I hope this does not cause any inconvenience.

Again, thank you for your support of your great missionary son.

With kind regards,

Dear Sister and Brother Adams,

Thank you for sending us such a great son. He is doing a marvelous work as my assistant and is a tremendous missionary. In fact, if you will permit, I’d like to have him serve with us a couple of weeks longer than his originally scheduled release date.

If it is not too inconvenient for you, we’d like to keep him here until Saturday, the 11th of June, on which day he’ll fly home in time for a late supper. Please let me know if this meets with your approval.

That the Lord will continue to bless you for your goodness and your sacrifice to support your faithful missionary son is my prayer as I remain

Very truly yours,

Robert G. Condie

Family!!!!!!
Hi it went great today. The baptism was amazing. Well i have had the opportunity of meeting elder hinckley and next week Elder Baird and I will have the opportunities to introduce him and conduct the zone conference meetings. I am so stoked for that. Georg had his share of troubles. his family was totally against his baptism and he was way stressed out but he did it anyway and he has a way strong testimony of the gospel. Tons of people came to his baptism to support him. It was so great. Well here is pics i will write next week.... actually not. we wont have time but i can write the details down in my journal.

February 26, 2011

WUNDERBAR,
what a grrrrrrreat week!!!! that is how tony the tiger would say it. I am so stoked. We planned transfers with president condie, and that was a wonderful experience. Elder baird and i get to stay together another transfer. Just to let you know that i also believe that i haven't written since the 24th. i sent all the emails that i have sent earlier but i believe that is about it. well you haven't seen any pictures of me because i haven't been able to take any. I have really no time to do that. we should take our cameras with us on all of our extravagant adventures but it is just a burden. I can come back here another time. We are doing great. I was wicked sick the past couple of weeks but managed to work through it and we cranked out 25 lessons this week. we are trying to help lift the mission through our example. I am so greatfull for elder Baird. He and i get along so well.
Well the baptism for georg geier is set in motion. He quit smoking this week. i introduced to him the stop smoking workshop. and he did it. we had a party for him because he made it and he apparently loves playing ping pong. So i played a round or two against him and he is really good. I am a little rusty and so he won. it was a great match though. but he asked me this evening if i would baptize him next saturday. Im so happy that he is making this step in his life. He is so happy and so willing to do that which will bring him blessings.
We set other baptismal dates this week. so in totall we have about 7 people that want to enter the waters of baptism. For that im pretty excited. WE have the possibility of helping six of these people come to baptism in the next transfer. It all just depends upon the fact if they keep their committments. Well im off to bed. its later than i want it to be and instead of writing in my journal we decided it would be good to write you now because next week we are helping with transfers, picking up new missionaries, sending home the old ones, and preparing for the next mission tour. Elder Hinckley is coming to our mission to pump up the missionaries and to help them/all of us reach our highest potential. He is the son of President Hinckley. We get to travel around with them in the entire mission and learn from him and his wife. Im so greatfull for you all and for all that you do. thank you for supporting me in my mission. thank you for everything.

Danke Sehr,
Also wunderschönen guten servus!!!!. We had a great week this week. The past two weeks were intense. We were constantly on the road. We haven't had the time to go grocery shopping for three weeks and because of that we saved a lot of money. Sister Condie watches out for us though. We were planning on riding with them these last two weeks from zone conference to zone konference but it always turned out that president condie had meetings with the stake presidents after the zone conferences and so that meant that Elder Baird and i had some time to go out and work with the missionaries. We went out and we baptised!!!! We went on splits and exchanges everywhere. I went to a family in wels in the salzburg zone and had the wonderful opportunity of committing them to baptism. They want to be baptised on the 12th of March. We helped the elders in Aarau, switzerland find 4 new investigators. We made out about 4 appointments in Bern. In wien on the way to the trainstation we were able to get a few contacts. It was awesome. It was the greatest two weeks of my life till now. the next two weeks im going to do better and make them better than the last and so on and so forth. But it wasnt without its trials. We only got to spend three days in our own area, we spent many nights sleeping on the floors of other missionaries apartments, no blankets no mattresses.... its cool. But we still had an amazing week. we packed double appointments in during the couple days that we were here and the members just did splits with us so we were able to teach and meet with just as many people as we wanted. The members here are so ready to help us. its wonderful. they saw a couple sundays ago that we had like 9 investigators at church and just wanted to drop everything that they were doing and help the missionwork.
We are working so hard and it is so worth it. Georg Gaier is making amazing progress. I am so impressed with his will to do what is right. He wants to give up smoking. So yesterday i did the stop smoking programm with him and he is willing to give up smoking. He is so excited to get baptized on the 5th of march. I am also very excited for that day.
Well i gotta say that elder baird is my valentine. I love him so much. We work so hard together. We feed off of each others momentum, and we keep pushing each other to be better more christlike missionaries. I would give him my firstborn child. So even though we were only together these past two weeks during the actual zone konferences, and every other minute we were apart teaching with other missionaries encouraging, inspiring, lifting and blessing others, it was a great week. I dont actually know if that sentence made sense. Hmmm. my english is pretty sad. thats why im staying here. I got it. Its pretty final, or in other words official. President is allowed, from the First Presidency, to extend my mission for an extra month. That is the maximal amount of time for anybody because of Visa regulations. But im ok with that. So..... hope you are all ok with that. :) Its the greatest thing in the world. wanna know why? Wien, Salzburg, Wels, München, Stuttgart, Esslingen, Winterthur, St. Gallen, Zürich, Wettingen, Bern, Zollikofen, and Aarau. Those were the cities i was in, in the past 2 weeks. Each city has at least 30,000 inhabitants, most of which need the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am so stoked to share this saving message, the healing words and love that our Heavenly Father has for all of us, with every single one of these people. Have a great week, and enjoy the blessings that you daily recieve at the hand of Him from whom all blessings flow.

February 8, 2011

Hi everybody,
I love you all very much.
Well well well,
it seems as though when i miss emailing for a week it turns out really bad. sorry that i miss sometimes. It is a rule that we are supposed to write every week however we have been so busy. This week we start the mission tour again. We are traveling around the mission for the next two weeks and teaching at seven different zone konferenzes. We are pretty excited because we got news that Elder Hinckley will be coming to our mission at the end of this month. he will be touring our mission and teaching us and helping us to become a better mission. But as for the bad news. That is really not cool that the two emails that i got from you for the past two weeks are about deaths. I remember sister littleford. She was a great lady and had a wonderful impact on me in my life especially as a missionary. i really learned the talent of listening to someone when we went to her house and met with her. She was great. I do that with investigators now. Listening to them and to the spirit is the key to helping them solve their concerns. That is so sad as well that Uncle mark died. That is horrible news especially how he died. Not even cool. I know that the Lord our God has a Plan and a place for them though and because they led righteous lives and served others they will be blessed. I am so greatfull for the restored gospel and for the comfort that it brings.
We have a wall in the mission office that has pictures of recent baptisms in the mission and a couple pictures of the German speaking lands temples and in the middle of it it it has a definition for the word missionary. It says: "Missionary-someone who leaves his or her family for two years so that others can be with theirs for eternity" I truly believe in that statement and take comfort in that fact. I get to see this gospel blessing the lives of the families that we are teaching. We are teaching a couple of amazing families at the moment. We found them recently. Jonathan and Martina and their three kids are amazing. they came to church for the first time the other day and loved it. they felt the spirit so strongly and are wanting to come again next week. they are wanting to have their underaged children blessed by priesthood holders and they want to be baptized. Jonathan wants to be baptized so that he can be able to baptize his daughter Kristina when she turns eight on the 7th of April. I am so happy to be here. so many miracles are happening right now. Elder Baird and i are working so hard. I love him so much for the strength he gives me and how we can just swing off of each others momentum to keep moving forward even though we don't have enough strength to move on alone.
There is another man Georg Gaier. he is the boyfriend of a member. hasn'nt wanted contact really for a long time but with a call led by the spirit we were able to reach him in a time of need and he just had an a-ha moment. He realizes the gospel is something necessary and wants to meet with us. he mentioned to his girlfriend that he wants to be married in the temple. How wonderful is that?!!!?
well to answer your questions. no i did not get grandmas package. I am not drinking pina coladas. whats with produce basket? Im doing ok except for my body is breaking down and the only thing holding me together is the holy ghost. I might have strep. Sister condie has already checked on me and i have talked to the mission doctor. We are working like beasts here. havent had a p-day since i got here, but im loving it. I have to try to pay My Savior back for what he has done for me. So im giving my best everyday. and because i am loving it so much i have talked to president condie. (its cool being here. I have close connections with president and sister condie, for example when i am sick). And i suggested president condie that he extend my callling. We'll see :) I love you all so much and wish you a merry christmas.

SEI GEGRÜSST.
So this week was great!!!! we went and picked up all of the new missionaries and we sent the old missionaries home. I feel alone in the mission i am starting to send home all of the people that i look up to. All the missionaries that have been great influences on me and have been great friends are all going home. I dont like that too much. But life goes on. We had amazing weather for the past couple of weeks we were out and about and the sun was shining just a week ago and then this week and the week it started snowing again. I thought that spring had come but the cold is back. It was about -7 degrees celsius the other day. But despite of that we are tearing it up. Despite not being able to work in our area because of transfers and whatnot we managed to do a great work this week. we are constantly making progress and getting more and more people to come to church. We had seven investigators in the church the other day and that is great.
sorry for not writing again last week. wE just get so busy and i feel also pretty bad that this letter is pretty weaksauce but i also want my companion to have a chance at writing his family. The joy just keeps on coming from being a missionary. I have never been so tired in my life, i have never had so much joy in my life. We are working so hard.
Thanks for letting me know about my package. I had been calling around to find out where it was and they had no idea. So im glad that it showed up. I told you not to send me anything anyway for christmas. I will be able to live without it.
KNow that i love you all o so very much and wisch you a great and wonderfull blessed week.

January 15, 2011

Life has been going amazingly great. I am doing well. It is so cool to teach so much. We are teaching about 30 lessons a week. its great we find almost no time to eat but the people usually feed us at the appointments. Sadly it is always something unhealthy like kake or cookies or chips. we are tearing it up. the work is going great. except for the fact that about half of our investigators got into anti mormon matierial . but that is also ok. we will totally destroy all of that with our unschaking testimonies. i am writing this really fast so i have probably a lot of mistakes in it. We planned transfers with president condie this week. Elder Baird and i are staying together for one more transfer. how lucky am i. we did exchanges this week with the Elders in Pratteln, which is in the bern area, and we also did exchanges with the elders in Tübingen which is in the area of Stuttgart. We lived out of our backpacks for about three days slept on hard floors and double dipped on the socks and other articles of clothing that we were wearing. But out of that came about 40 new contacts, 20 new appointments 10 new investigators and a baptismal date that i set with a girl in a train. She was super prepared. I will have to tell you that story one day when i have time but we have to go to another appointment now and i want you all to know that i love you and wish you sweet dreams. have a happy birthday as well as a happy hannukah. With best regards and love from the deepest parts of my hard working heart and tired body,
Elder adams.

Elder Baird and i became comps in the pre-existence! we are so made for each other!!!! mark that on your map!!!!!

as for mission field comps we have been together for the past 6 weeks about. we were together for the first time on exchanges a little more than six weeks ago and then we became official on the 8th of december in the year of our Lord 2010 at 17:26 in the P.M.

January 1, 2011

Hello!!!!
Ya ap is going good. it makes me really understand the real meaning of serving. I really dont have any ideas of what you could do either because i dont really know the situation of the family but i do care. and devin you were a missionary. use your brain. What did you always commit families to do so that they could come closer together? Have you read the family a proklamation to the world lately? Do you study the scriptures together as a family and pray as a family? Make God and Christ the centerpoint and forget yourselves. Forget Yourselves and come quickly to the Remembrance of the rock of your Redemption which is Christ. (Helaman 5:12) And with this remembrance you will be able to overcome the devils mighty storm, whirlwind and hail, which we know WILL come. No matter what. we know that trials will come but what we need to remember is the savior. i invite you to read and pray as a family. Seek the guidance of the holy spirit in your lives.
I am doing great. I loved hearing from you as well. I love you all so much. The work is going forward and Elder Baird and i are tearing it up. We have 3 baptismal dates and we are teaching more lessons a week than i have ever taught before. I think that the Lord is really blessing people at this time. I have no idea what is going on but i like it. I have been giving my best. I have been the most focused as i have ever been on my entire mission and i believe that the language has never been easier. I love working with other missionaries and being able to do exchanges over all in our entire mission. I ask myself sometimes why am i allowed to serve in this position. it is such a blessing and i learn so much. I had a wonderful Christmas, and a great new year. Elder Baird and i have been running quite a bit lately and its really cool how we just feed off of each others energy in every aspect. in the work in morning sport, in planning. everything. I love it. I would give everything in the world to continue in the happiness that i enjoy daily working here in München with Elder Baird. I love you all. I want you to understand that clearly and fully that i am here for you. I wish you all a great new year and the blessings that God has in store for us as a family. may we humbly go forth with our thoughts focused on Christ and his Atonement is my prayer in His sacred name, Amen.

Way cool that the old folks are still dating!!!!!!! thats great!!!! Keep it up being the cool parents!!!!!
European missionaries are allowed to go there. president gave us the low down on Switzerland. We are pretty stacked with European missionaries and so i believe that we will be ok and that the work here will go forth.
