We saw Elder Adams yesterday at zone conference.  He says he is doing great and he looks wonderful.  His German is very good for a new missionary.  His companion is one of our very best missionaries and they are doing a great work together.  Thank you for sending us such a wonderful elder!

Hello Mutti!!!!!!!! Hello Familie!!!!!!!!
Es geht mir gut hier in Salzburg!!!!!(its doing well for me here in Salzburg) O my goodness it is so beautiful here. ok so first off if i spell anything wrong it is not my fault the keys are all in the wrong places. and it is really messed up. But any how I love you all so very much!!!! How is it going for yall. That is wonderful that you all spent the day with chelsea! that makes me so happy. So guess what? I have a run down old six speed bike that is pretty much my transportation everywhere. we have ridden like 400 miles in the past 4 days or something like that. Nein, that was just a little exaggeration but it feels like it. I am so so very saddle sore ha ha, mein po tut mir weh. Church was awesome. totally different from what goes down in Amerika. they had me introduce myself in the middle of sacrament. but it was way cool i bore my testimony, told them where i come from, and how long i've been here and they all were like wow your german is really good for only being here 5 days. i think they were lying so i will have to call them to repentance. however we (Elder Williams and I) set up like 9 dinner appointments for the next week. We contakt so much it is amazing. i only have ten more minutes so i have to ask you some questions first for an infor mation form. i need our stake presidents info. home address, last name, phone, and the same info for the bishop. just everything like fax and email for both of them. Mom dad i need your dates of birth and birthplaces and that will do. ok now that that is taken care of. ok so food is amazing here. we have this nice old lady that lives in the apartment under us adn she gives us this catered food that she buys from a restaurant every day. it is so good. she calls us up and says "komme unter ich habe etwas gutes für ihnen" h aha it is so funny how she says it you have to hear it. ha we call her oma. It reminds me of how chelc said i will have old ladies crushing on me. Ha oma is so nice. Oh yeah there was a baptism on saturday and i sang there. the girl who got baptized is named billie ebner so cool. my comp forgot to unplug the font when he got out so they hung me over the railing upside down and i had to go fishing i have a cool pic that i will send ha ha. well almost outta time. there is so much to tell and not enough time to write. We have met so many cool people here. I love this work and i love you all thank you for all your support. till next week!!!!!

Dear Brother and Sister Adams,

We are delighted to tell you that Elder Adams arrived safely in Munich this morning. He is tucked away in bed now after a long day of orientation. Tomorrow he will travel to his first area in Salzburg, Austria and meet his companion.

We thought you might enjoy these pictures from this evening. In the first, he is pointing to his area. He was also given time today to write you a letter, which should arrive in a week or ten days and will contain more information about the mission. Next Monday is Preparation Day and he will have time then to email you with more details.

We are thrilled that he is here and are very impressed with his preparation and enthusiasm. He will be a great missionary. Thank you for all you have done to help him become the fine young man he is today. We will do all we can to help him grow as a missionary and have a successful mission. Today has been completely awesome!!! Mom i have to just tell you how much i love you. You have done so much for me thank you for all that you do each and every day. I pray for you all the time and the fam. You are all very important to me. So i just returned from going to the temple for the last time. I stayed in the celestial room for a very long time looking at the picture of Jesus and praying really hard. I am definately going to need the help with the language and I know the Lord will be there to help me. It was a really neat experience today in the temple. One that I will surely remember for the rest of my life. so speaking of that. Yes mom i am going to send my stuff home that i dont need with marci. Could you tell her that i would like to talk and see when it is best to give it all to her on sunday. Cuz if i dont get it to her that would really not be good. You dont have to send me my gray pjs i have my other ones and usually i just sleep in my garments it is pretty toasty. Mom you have to tell me all about the Girls camp. If it will be better to talk about then we can do that on monday. i have like a three hour layover in atlanta so we can chat for a while. It is going to be an exciting day. i cant even wait till i get to go. we have been getting ready all week. We reset new goals these past two weeks to stay as diligent as ever possible and it has been a real success. We have been only speaking german the entire time. it is so cool. I can speak some german to you on the phone too. :) Love ya bunches. Ha so i will get back on later and write more love you tons!!!! Wow tell dev, those are some amazing stories. Im so excited to get out there and do the same work with the german people. Mom i know you love me the mostest. And i love you the Mostest too!! You mean so so so very much to me I hope you know that. Shipping to me in Germany is going to be expensive don't feel you have to do it a lot. I Love you and I am so very thankful for all that you have sacrificed to help me get here. This week has been amazing. Preparing to leave and get everything ready is awesome. I had some money left over on my blue card here and so i bought Jesus the Christ in german! ha ha i will be able to fully understand it someday, and after my mission it will help me keep up on my german. Im so excited to teach. Our teachers here told us to set up as many appts. as we could this week with investigators in the teaching resource center. We scheduled tons. some we didnt even have time in between to prepare, and by the way we are teaching all of these in german and completely by the spirit. It is so amazing to just open your mouth and be able to teach people about the gospel of Jesus Christ and to be able to bear testimony in a different language. I love it the spirit is always so strong. I cant hold back the emotions when testifying to an investigator about the restoration or about how Jesus Christus hat für unsere sünden gelittet und ist für unsere sunden gestorben. (Jesus Christ suffered and died for our sins) it is truly amazing work and i hope i will be able to bring this message to at least someone in germany. I know it has helped me and i know that it can also help them. So you ask what kind of food I eat here. they serve hamburgers a lot and they do roast beef and mashed potatoes a lot. Fridays they rotate between papa johns pizza and teriyaki stix rice bowls. Chicken is often on the menu as well in sandwich form or just chicken. The food is good here, that is why i am now 17 lbs heavier than the day i first entered. But again it is all muscle. have you seen the pics of me? Im a ripped beast. dad i think i can take you easy now. :) ha ha (oh the ha ha's by the way are me chuckling to myself while sitting here at the computer). But ya the food is good but consequently it forces me to make at least three return appointments with the bathroom each day, to teach either the First or Second Discussion. One time i baptised the bathroom (think about that) Ya times up love you all so much have a wonderful day!!!!!!!!

Family!!!!! I GOT MY FLIGHT PLANS!!!!!!!!!!! i am so excited!! So i leave the here at 4:00 am My flight from SL leaves at 7:00 am on the 20 of july 2009. im scheduled to arrive in atlanta at 12:48 pm their time. i then have a layover for like 2.5 hours where i will be calling you :) and then my flight from atlanta to Munich, German Federal leaves at 4:20 their time. i then will arrive in munich germany on the 21 of July 2009 at 7:50 am. Can you even believe it the time has gone by so fast. Im going to germany. wow!! Ich glaube es nicht!! Im the travel leader and i have the two elders from my district with me through the whole flight. Elder ellis and Elder wilson are going to make great companions as we fly to germany!!! Woot woot!!!! Well family i will write back later i gotta go get my suits dry cleaned so i will look fresh for the mission field!
hey dev thanks for the scriptures i love those! i only had my german scriptures with me today my english ones are in the classroom and i was too lazy to go get them so i read it all in german and i understood really well. its really cool to read in another language. it has the exact same meaning and everything but it gives it a whole new meaning if you know what i mean? it is sooooo awesome the german is really coming along and i can pretty much say whatever i want whenever i want in german. so tight. ha ha im glad that you love black people.... um im not so totally sure if i will see that many black people but if i do im sure i will love them as well. Wir sind genauso die sohnes Mosias (we are exactly like the sons of mosiah)

mom to answer your questions in your dear elders. yes i see felix and derek it is cool to see them all the time. its like high school all over i see like ten people i knew from highschool here. No they would never let us go to that babylonian stadium of fire. we did however have an awesome devotional where we learned about the reformers of the church then we watched the fireworks from the circle of flags in the parking lot that was cool and it was way loud. couldnt get any good pics tho. Schade (shame). We got to stay up till eleven o clock. i felt disobedient but they told us we could. ha ha im just way used to lights out at ten thirty. i will definitely try to use proper grammar spelling punctuation and capitalization where necessary mom, because i love you ever so so much. ha ha but it will be kinda hard. this german is messing with me i find myself thinking of english words and the way english sentences are structured ha ha. I will however try. yes mom I am OK :) i love you and i love it here at the mtc. I want to write you a personal letter every week as well as an email because the prophet said so. which by the way i will be sending some stuff home with marcy in the next week or so. Like my journal.. you can read it. It has the whole story of the notes i took of the prophets hour long talk in that amazingly wonderful sacrament meeting. tell calvin congrats on the baptism!!!!! Spency Reef. Way to go with the spl i know you will be a great leader!!! Yes i got my package and it was wonderful! i shared the cookies with everyone and everyone in my zone now loves you mom they said so. But not as much as I love you. I only needed like a 1.50 for Elder cannon but thank you so much for the 20 mom you are the best!!!!! I cannot ever even describe how greatful i am for you mom. you are the best. you do so much for me.
way to go dad you made me super jealous. now i want some serious strawberry rhubarb cobbler. O well i will take pics of the food i eat in germany in eleven days and we will then see who has the last laugh! ha ha ha. o my goodness i love you all so very much. I am so o so very glad that we can live together in the kingdom of our father forever. I am so greatfull that we have the knowledge of this gospel that we do. it is truly a wonderful blessing. oooohhhh i got to go to the temple today for the first time in three weeks that was wonderful so very spiritual. ja! Genau! Das is richtig wie man sagt, es geht mir gut! ha ha wow your german is decent bro!! ha ha thats awesome that things are going good in north shore im so happy that you got your new misison presiddent. Ha ha sorry if i spell anything wrong i have got soo much german on the brain. So coolest stories of my life!!!! we got to do some service on friday last week which was setting up chairs and taking down tables after all the apostles got done eating. so pretty much we got to see and be right next to the apostles that were at the mtc that day. which were d todd christofferson who we talked to (his wife speaks german by the way) and l tom perry, elder bednar elder holland, elder oaks and several others. which was awesome we stood like 2 feet away from them all as they chatted and we worked. so cool. at the devotional they had like seven apostles sitting there on the stand and elder Holland gave a wonderful message!!!! He is such an amazing and powerful speaker. The big thing though is the sacrament meeting me and my comp got to go to. i broke the bread at the sacrament table adn my comp passed the sacrament to the people that were there. It was such a wonderful experience. all the first presidency was there monson uchtdorf and eyering, as well as all of the quorum of the twelve besides Packer. There weere so many priesthood keys in that one room. I could feel the spirit so strong as the presidency entered the room and everone stood up!! wow so so cool. Pres monson gave an hour long talk that is so awesome!! It was all about mission stories as he was a mission president in toronto canada. I cant believe that i got to be a part of that amazing sacrament meeting. Since when is all of the quorum of the twelve together in one room?! Yes devin i write in my journal jeden tag (every day) and trust me this past week has been so journal worthy!! i have so many awesome stories i think i will just send my journal home so that you can read them all. k mom. thank you for being the best most dedicated mother ever. I love you so much. I realize that you do so much for me. it is just that i dont have the greatest amount of time to email such long stories. but i do have like 5 hours and while my laundry is cleaning to write letters so i will try to be better about that. i will get back on later. write back if you get this in time love you fam!!!! hey dev thanks for the scriptures. those were really good! ha ha so i remember that one time you had the cool experience in the rc with that one guy. i had one like that. this lady, her name is audrey requested a book of mormon and i was just doing a confirmation call. it turned into like a 20 min coversation about everything. everything that was going on in her life was like an exact thing that applies to the gospel (das Evangelium) so we were talking and we read 3 nephi ch 11 over the phone and moroni 10:3-5 taking turns reading a verse over the phone i committed her to read the book of mormon and she was like ya i have been looking for something like this to study in my bible study group. ha ha and she is planning a family reunion cuz some members of her family recently died and so she wanted to do some geneology. the whole time as i was talking with her i was wondering if she was really a member and she was just pulling my leg. but no she accepted to have the missionaries come over and teach her but she wanted to still talk to me so i keep going back every once in a while to talk with her. it was soo cool i gave her like the entire first lesson over the phone and i bore testimony so often and she liked everything i had to say. she said, " you must really be a child of God, you are so kind and i can tell you want to follow Jesus" ha ha so yes i think i smell a baptism. ha ha it was good talking to her. she was a nice southern black lady. hey mom in the fourth of july package the post office here closes on fri and sat so i wont get it till mon or so. i dont really need anything i sent you a letter too. i might need some cash i had to pay cash for the pics i sent and i didnt have any so elder cannon had to spot me so if you could send a little tht would be awesome so i could pay him back. he has been getting a little home sick lately and its hard to keep him on task. idk what to do. I love you mom thank you so much for supporting me and writing me everyday. it makes my day when i get a letter. im still busting my butt trying to keep my comp busy and geting the Lords work done. I love you and since you have two diligent missionaries out you get double the blessings. time is up love you tons i dont really mind what gets sent in the package but i know it will be good love you!
