Hey not a lot of time to write today. We had an awesome district p day and we played ping pong. It was so awesome.. we also played a couple german games one that was called the lemming mafia. it is such an awesome boardgame. and then we also played a german card game that is pretty much like scum. I loved it. p days are awesome chill days. I have recieved your package. I shared the candles which i opened today, with Elder Gruse because it is his birthday today. We are doing so well here in Bamberg. We committed our investigator Svetlana to baptism and we also set a baptismal date because she Accepted!!!!! she will be baptised on the third of july. and that will take quite a bit of work lots of faith and prayers, because she knows the church is true but she is not married to her husband and they have two kids together. So they will have to get married before they get baptised. Elder gruse is doing Awesome. he is starting to lose his fear of talking to people and with a little bit of time and more practice he will soon be a contacting master. We teach like pros together and we plan amazingly and its because we are both obedient hard working missionaries who want to serve our Lord. I LOVE the work I LOVE You all. Please know that. i cant really write anymore because we have to end our pday a little early we have an appointment. Nothing can stop the work from progressing. I will however write you a letter later! LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello family. Well i must say that it is hard for me to type in english. I have spoken only german for the past couple of weeks and it is awesome. My english speaking abilities have been destroyed and i am really having to think through and formulate these sentences. It is so cool.
So i did get the shoes you sent me. I have a really sore set of feet from breaking them in. I am so thankful that i have new shoes. they are really good thank you mom. ya, i noticed that as well. The brown shoes arent the same. and the black ones arent the same either. they dont have the goretex in them. so i didnt know if we were getting the short end of the stick on that one, but to me it doesnt matter. i am just happy i can walz through the streets of Bamberg with a joyful song in my heart and the ability to speak to everysingle one of Gods blessed children. There are so many cool people out there. Its great to talk to them!
Well good news some of the other elders in an area right next to ours had an extra helmet and so i dont have to buy one. We got on the bikes today for a little bit. Mine still works and is in awesoeme shape, however the bike that was in the celler is pretty junky and fell apart as elder Gruse was riding it. -the gear shifter cable got stuck in the chain. that made a beautiful noise. So you can be greatful and rest easy. Elder adams is restrained from ridin his black bike of doom for at least another week.
the weather has been great. We have had quite a bit of rain and a little bit of sun here and there, but the temperature has been heavenly. i love the smell of rain anyhow and the noise that it makes as it slowly patters down on the ancient rooftops of the buildings here. tis wonderful. Just a little something that points to the fact that there is an almighty loving God that created everything in such beauty and wonder, so that we could live here and enjoy it.
This week was awesome. We have seen quite a bit of success. We found three new investigators. The family Brenner is such a wonderful family. The mother in this family is going into the Hospital soon and as we talked to her on the door i could tell that she was prompted by the spirit to let us in, because the gospel is something special that she would need at this time in her life. I am so excited for this family to begin taking and keeping commitments that will bring them closer to their father in heaven. Another man that we found his name is Frederick Snipes. He is an american but has lived here for the past 23 years of his life and he is only 25. He shared with us his entire story about how he used to hang out with the wrong crowd and how he did drugs and drank but he came to a point in his life where he needed to change. He made this change and said that God and Jesus have helped him through it. It is so wonderful to see how our father in heaven loves each and everyone of his children and helps them in their times of need. God pours out his Love on each and every one of us. It is unbeleivable how much he loves each and everyone of us. I have felt his loving hand influence my life for the better. He has guided me and led me through the hardest times by giving me the people that are around me. My family, my friends, these i consider to be the "angels to bear you up" that he spoke about and promised us all. I am so greatful for his outpouring of love and the chance i have to realize that, feel it, and then pass it on as i serve Him.

Hellllooooo!!!!!! All my beloved people that i know so very well. Well So the training is going awesome. I have spoke so much german in the last couple of days because Elder GRUSE, my new companion, doesnt speak any english. It is so awesome! He is from berlin. He and I work together so well. He wants to be obedient, and it is just awesome how hard he wants to work. I am so amazed at his willingness to serve the Lord. What is also really cool or what a really good feeling is is that he really looks up to me. In every aspect of the work i can see how he follows my example. We wake up in the morning and do our morning exercises, what is cool is that he wants to follow my workout plan that i have. He has been doing it with me for the past couple of days and he says that it really hurts his abs and that he is so sore. Ha ha i love it. And then we go out and teach!!!!!! The first day that he was here we had an appointment with an investigator that we have been teaching for the longest time. Her name is Svetlana Matschnavov. We had committed her to baptism a while ago and she had never accepted, she said however that she would pray about it and think about it. But in this lesson that we had on the first day that Elder Gruse was here, it was so spiritual. We asked Svetlana if she had prayed about the message that we told her if it was true or not, and this time she said that she had prayed and that she knows that the church is true. She said she feels the spirit everytime she comes to church and that she feels it when she reads in the book of mormon. And that is how she knows that it is true. So then we asked her if she would be baptised now that she knows it is true, and she said that she is going to get baptised. It was so so AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Wow. But it is a really cool but really scary responsibility to train, because he follows my example. Just like a son. When i teach a certain way on the street or in a lesson, he sees that and immediately absorbs it like a sponge. He watches everything i do and then does it like me. Ha i love elder Gruse!!!!!
In other news, yes i did get the package!!!! It is now in my posession. but mom you dont have to send another package for my birthday. I dont really need anything. you can just put a little money in my account and then i can just buy a little something for myself. I dont really need a package for my birthday.
So Elder hansen couldnt ride bikes because of his health concerns and so we never got the bikes out, but Elder Gruse is healthy and ready to go and so we are going to get the bikes out and see if we can start moving around on the bikes in bamberg. Ha i still cant get over how crazy it is that I am training! It is getting warmer here, the flowers are blooming a little bit and the snow has melted. Elder Gruse comes home dead tired everynight. He tells me in his perfect berlin german that he sleeps like a stone everynight. Elder Gruse is a german!!!!! He is built like a german too. He is really big (the biggest of all of my companions that i have had) He used to be in a volunteer firefighter brigade in his hometown. So cool!!!!! WE get along awesome, and we have only been together since thursday!!!!! Life is awesome!!!!!! WEll i am going to go and write president condie and tell him how awesome we are kickin' it here in BAMBERG!!!!! I might write again to you. O speaking of getting the bikes out for the summer and riding around i have not as of yet bought a helmet and so that is what i can use the money for from my birthday. To buy a helmet. that would be a good idea, seeing that i am really good at riding bikes ha ha ha ha ..... later LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!

Hey family friends and colleages, bretheren in the Lord, red fishes blue fisches one fish two fish!!!!! My loving aquaintences i wish you a wonderful day!!!!!! The sun is shining the birds are chirping and i am just happy as can be. So as to the attachment along with the email. I would wish that you would keep it it is. It is my weekly report to president condie and i will explain later what it is about in this email. So this week we had exchanges with the assistents. they came and saved me from a doom of getting cabin fever from staying inside the apartment all day. We worked so hard as we went outside and i was just so happy to be out there tearing it up and contacting and speaking and helping people feel the spirit and come closer to God through our wonderful message. Ha I had such a great time. We came back and then for the next day or two we had to stay in the apartment still because the headaches of elder hansen were so bad. He was almost done almost ready to give up. The mission doctor told him that he was probably going to have to go home to get that treated which burdened him. So he called up president condie for a little bit of advice. President said that he also thought that Elder hansen was going to have to go home. Elder hansen, then weighted with the gravity of the situation, asked president if he could have until tuesday to see if it got better. President condie said ok and said that he should go out and contact people and just try to enjoy the work. This was on friday. As soon as Elder hansen got off the phone with president condie he was depressed. but then we had to go outside because we had an appointment. It was so wierd. He went from being completely incapacitated from the headaches to going outside and running. Im not gonna lie i doubt the truthfullness of his sickness that he said he had, because it was such a drastic change in so short a time (2 seconds i think) but i dont care i am just happy that i get to work again. I am just grateful that i am not the judge. Its good to be back in the game and I love it!!!!!!!!!!! it is so much fun to talk to people.
So cool news from me for the week. I am actually sick to my stomach about this and i am pretty scared. So to explain. When german missionaries come into the mission they come in the middle of the normal transfer. So it is the middle of the transfer and president condie called me on saturday to tell me that i would be taking on the responsibility to train a new german missionary. I dont know what to do. I am pretty scared and i have turned to the lord in honest prayer for the help that i need. please pray for me. I dont know really what to do because i am still pretty new as well and i still have a lot to learn. Man i dont think im ready to train, but apparently president condie thinks i am and he has got the keys to the revelation for all of his missionaries in this area. I have been brought into the depths of humility from this calling. please pray for me. as for elder hansen he is getting transferred away to go work in ansbach, because he is better now. Please pray for him as well that he will be able to stay well as well. Well i love you all that is pretty much all that happened this week. As for my birthday and shoes. I have not yet recieved the shoes. birthday... um i dont even know. I think money would be ok. The battery in my watch is going to die soon. and i dont know how much it costs to replace the battery. so ya just put money in my account and i can buy something. that would save you money in shipping. plus stuff here in germany is cool. So ya you dont have to send me anything for my birthday. Well brother wolf is taking us out to lunch today so we gotta go. LOve you all so much!!!!!!!!

Lieber Präsident Condie,
Diese Woche war insgesamt eine ganz gute Woche! Wir sahen so viele wunder diese Woche. Erstens haben wir mit ihren Assistenten gearbeitet auf einem Austausch. Ich habe wirklich so viel von dem Elder Erekson gelernt. Er hat öfters die Menschen geholfen ihre eigene bedenken auszuräumen beim fragen stellen. Ich werde daran arbeiten bessere fragen zu stellen und diese Menschen hier im Bamberg helfen das wiederhergestellte Evangelium und die lehre Jesu Christi besser zu verstehen und zu vertrauen. Ich habe wirklich vieles gelernt und ich werde die dingen die ich gelernt habe in die tat umsetzen. Zweitens ist der Elder Hansen besser und wieder gesund geworden! Vor er sie angerufen hat, den Kopfschmerz war so schlimm, fast unerträglich, weil wir nicht draußen gehen könnten wegen des Schmerzens. Aber plötzlich nachdem er sie angerufen hat ist alles besser geworden. Wir sind draußen gegangen und wir haben einfach jeder angesprochen. Wir haben unseren plan den wir an den tag vorher ausgemacht haben, folgen können. Auch wie sie sehen können, wir haben viel erfolg gesehen. Wir haben viele Terminen für nächste Woche ausgemacht und wir freuen uns sehr dafür. Ich bin so froh das ich einfach arbeiten darf. Ich habe sehr hart dafür gebetet das den Elder Hansen schnell sich verbessert damit wir arbeiten konnten. Ich lüge nicht, ich war ziemlich frustriert letzte Woche weil ich nicht Menschen helfen konnte. Aber das ist jetzt in der Vergangenheit. Ich bedanke mich bei ihnen für alles was sie für mich machen. Ihre rat ist mir kostbar und ich schätze es sehr. Vielen dank das sie mir die Aufgabe gegeben habe um einen neuen Missionar zu trainieren. Ich lüge nicht, ich habe viel angst davor, weil ich auch ziemlich neu auf mission bin und muss immer noch viel lernen. Als sie angerufen haben, um mir dies zu sagen, habe ich mich fast übergeben. Mein magen ein bisschen unglücklich für eine weile. Aber ich freue mich auf diese Gelegenheit und verspreche ich ihnen das ich werde alles tun was sie mir sagen. Ich verspreche ihnen auch das ich mein deutsch verbessern wird. Danke für alles Präsident Condie. Alles gute und einen wunderschönen tag noch wünsche ich ihnen!

i know you are not a meddling mother. you just love me too much! :) But I love you back even more! :)

So that is a cool week from devin. I didnt get the chance to know elder whitsitt or as he is now known as "marc". But that is cool that he had heard of me. I dont know how he heard of me. That is kinda weird. But any how this week was very hard. I have a very sick companion. As i told you last week he had recieved a concussion in the mtc and that causes him to have headaches. Well the headaches have started to get worse and so we had to stay inside basically the entire week. I have tried to not let it kill my spirits. or to let it discourage me, by studying and by reading and doing language study activities, but i am not going to lie it is really starting to get at me and there is nothing i can do about it. I want to be outside working and i want to be contacting people and telling them about the restored gospel and the joy that it has brought to my life, but at the risk of elder hansens health i cannot do that. So we have stayed inside since wednesday. That is five days of complete studying except for an hour to eat lunch and an hour to eat dinner. I dont know. i mean i love studying but there is a point where you cant take it anymore. I need to be sharing the gospel. Teaching lessons. Finding people. Maybe that sounds like selfishness on my part but sigh..... im sorry, i will work on being a better person. Well on a higher note. I am on page 200 of Jesus the Christ. I started that a couple of days ago. I am in alma 10 as i am reading through the German book of mormon. I have improved my german skills considerably in the aspect of adjective endings and prepositions taking the dative and accusative. Scripture memorization has also been a wonderful use of my time as of late. So i dont feel like i am wasting the Lords time. yay!!!
Well as for other things that we did last week before we became quaratined to the apartment. We ate a Mama wolfs. The mother of our ward mission leader. She made so much food. I ate so so so much. I wiegh 70 kilos. but i have got a decent 6 pack going. I am bulking up with lots of muscle. and its mainly because i started a new workout plan in the morning. its called "shred them abs and build them buns" its mainly an ab and leg workout. but i dig on it :)
for p-day last week we went and visited a castle. It was awesome. Brother wolf took us there. It had so much history behind it from when it was built over a thousand years ago to how the nazis used it as an insane asylum for people. It was really an awesome experience.
We had an awesome zone conference on tuesday and i have been trying to apply the principles that I learned there so that i can become more awesome. i hope that i can become the tool in the hands of the Lord that the Lord wants me to be. i will definately strive towards that.

So ya i went to spencers concert with you last year. It was a lot of fun. So i just got done emailing La Presidente! That was cool. I like typing. Not really. But ya heres the pics of my shoes. and a pic of me and elder wilcoxson. Normall we as missionaries buy a matching tie for the transfer and we call them companionship ties but me and elder wilcoxson wanted to be the awesomness that we are and we bought comp scarfs. Now we are straight up Gangsta. Ha Ha. Well i believe that you have probably had enough of my ramble. I do still want to let you all know that despite the troubling times of hardness and severity and despair. I still know beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus is my Savior. This is His church. And we will one day see Gods face and we will recognize Him and rejoice in the familiarty and the fact that we know him and he knows us better than we think.
