We apologize for the delay in responding to your email. You are welcome to send Elder Adams a GPS if you would like, but you should know that it might be subject to customs fees and delays. We have not yet been able to determine a pattern as to what is held up in customs or how much the fees might be, but sometimes the delays are long and the fees can be as high as 50 euros. You just need to be aware of that. Another alternative, if you don't want to run that risk, would be to have him buy one here.
As to whether he needs it or not, that would probably best be decided between you and him. We do not have many car areas, so most of our missionaries use public transportation or bikes and seem to be very proficient.
Again, we apologize for the delay in responding. Elder Adams is a wonderful elder--we are so impressed with and grateful for him. Thank you for sending him to us so well-prepared and for supporting him as he serves. You might also have heard that your other son served in our daughter's ward in Evanston, Illinois for about nine months--a happy coincidence!
We hope you have a very happy Thanksgiving and a very Merry Christmas.
President and Sister Condie
